Reality is not what thought but significantly distorted by your thoughts. Once you accept that, the next big questions arise. Who created that distortion--this bubble? Frankly speaking, you and me. I created mine. You created yours. Sounds harsh? Why in the world should you have created that mess you are in right now? I assume it is a mess. At least it is not your dream life; otherwise, you wouldn't read this. It wasn't a total mess for me, but it wasn't my dream life either, far from it. Enough things sucked the joy out of me. When you stay in your reality as it is now, it will get worse over time. Your bad decisions, unhappy feelings, fears, and stupid thoughts will pile up. They pile up to a huge mess. A misery you don't even want to think about. Fortunately, there's a way out of it. See, you created your reality, your mess. You are responsible for being in that situation. But you can re-build your reality too. You are responsible for getting out of it too. That is a great thing. It changes everything. When I say responsible, I do not talk about guilt or fault. These are concepts that don't help you at all. They make things worse. It was created by your conscious and subconscious actions. The stuff you do and think daily. The beliefs you grew up with. The stuff we subconsciously learn from our environment, our parents, grandparents, friends, society, and everything else. We all took building blocks of their bubbles and integrated it into ours. Most of the time, on a subconscious level, meaning we don't even realize we did that. We are still doing that. It's like picking up your mother tongue as a child. I know that is something that needs time to accept. But it is essential. We all live in our bubbles. We all created our bubbles. Intentionally and unintentionally. And **we can change our bubbles to the way we want**. You are responsible for that change—nobody else. And you got all the power to do it. It's in your mind.
# Takeaway Accept that you created your current life, and you can change it at any time. It might be hard, but you still have the power to do it. You are the superhero of your life.
# Reflection Exercise Take one of your bad habits, be it snacking, choleric attacks, or whatever your nemesis is. Now imagine it gets 10 times or 100 times worse than today. How would your life look like with that? That will be your future 10 years from now.
btw our book Unlock Your Mind has more of those lessons to stop self-sabotaging behavior. Concise and to the point. --- Jens
